Celebrating Womanhood, Indo-Global Social Service Society (IGSSS) organised International Women‘s Day at Community Information Centre (CIC) Sumbal, Sonawari.   Sub-Judicial Magistrate (Sumbal, Sonawari), Ms Faiqa Nazir graced the occasion as a chief guest. Advocate Gh. Mohd. Bhat, Advocate Jalalu-Din and Advocate Gh Qadir Dar also took part in the event. Besides government officials (ICDS Supervisors), representatives of self help groups also attended the event.

Sub-Judicial Magistrate, Ms Faiqa Nazir vehemently spoke on the occasion about rights and duties of women. She said, “Women have to change the thought process, mere awareness campaigns or workshops will not work if women don’t change their thought processes”. “We have listened a lot and talked a lot but we, as a women must act now. Before we decide our course of action, we need to ponder over our place in the society or at home. With rights comes duties and women shouldn’t shy away from performing their duties”.
